The Super Eagles putting on their new jersey for the first time looked sharp and fit but showed a great lapse in team cohesion as the game progressed.  Bayern Munich attacker and Poland captain, Robert Lewandowski was close to raising the curtains when hit the woodwork early into the game after a low Kurzawa cross evaded every Super Eagles defender.
The Poles took the game to the young Nigerian team and asked several questions but the defensive duo of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong stood firm to repel their attack. Odion Ighalo combined well with Iheanacho but their partnership left little to savour as the Reds and Whites got hold of the game. It took a mistake from the referee for the Super Eagles to still be at par with the dominant Poles after a clearance by Balogun as the ball looked to have crossed the goal line.

The Super Eagles looked better in the second half with midfielder Joel Obi particularly looking tireless as he clattered onto every player in red and white, and receiving a yellow card in the process. Chelsea wing-back, Moses’ magic moment was all the Super Eagles needed as he charged through the Polish defence before being tripped in the box, and cooly converting the penalty that ensued.
Troost Ekong was rock solid in the defence as he blocked the Polish attackers on several occasions looking dependable and assured. Next stop is London, where the Nigerian team will file out against Serbia in another friendly game at the Hive.
