National Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Enugu has released a statement explaining a different account of what transpired at the Milliken Hill  Ngwo.
A person was burnt to death following alleged gunshots fired at a commercial bus on transit at the Milliken hill.
Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Enugu, Mr. Denny-Manuel Iwuchukwu, told Aledeh that the commercial bus driver ‘abducted’ a civil defence official who entered the vehicle to force the driver to stop for violating traffic regulations.
According to Iwuchukwu, the bus fell into the valley, and burst into flames, while running away from NSCDC men, who were chasing the vehicle in a bid to rescue their ‘abducted’ colleague.
“The driver picked passengers outside the park and he was asked to stop but he refused. So one of our men entered the bus and the driver took off with him, thereby abducting him.”
NSCDC Commandant, Mr Steve Amogaon told Radio Nigeria Enugu that “the public should desist from rumors that their officials requested for fifty naira bribe (N50)”.
Iwuchukwu disclosed that the official is receiving treatment.
